Conspiracy theories are widespread in the Nordic countries today, as they have been throughout history. They function as explanations for societal crises, tools of misinformation, and weapons in disinformation warfare. In the “Greater Nordics” (Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and associated territories), conspiratorial narratives reflect both local concerns and broader European and U.S. developments. The CONNOR conference welcomes contributions that explore Nordic conspiracy theories in historical, cultural, political, psychological, and media contexts, as well as comparative perspectives. We especially encourage case studies, methodological reflections, and proposals for interventions, education, and countermeasures.
